Guest Artist Carolyn Carvajal (2010 resume)
Carolyn Carvajal was born in Canton, Ohio. She began her professional career in the San
Francisco Ballet and became known for her work as principal dancer with San Francisco Dance Spectrum. For 12 years she toured extensively with Dance
Through Time, for which she was Assistant Artistic Director, expanding her knowledge to include the last 500 years of social dance. She performed with
the San Francisco Opera Ballet for 29 years. Currently she is choreographing for various musical theater companies and the San Francisco Girl's Chorus,
and is teaching pre-ballet, country-western line dances, two-step, waltz, and swing.
Carolyn is a most frequent guest with Run For Your Life!, and has performed as The Princess in The Soldier’s Tale and as petite prima ballerina assoluta
Marianne Humainette.
Carolyn’s daughters Celina Carvajal and Calliope Carvajal have also performed with RFYL!, and her husband Carlos Carvajal has presented many
of RFYL!’s works on programs of his own company, Peninsula Ballet Theater.
